Standing Together in Wolverhampton |
||
Over the weekend, PCSOs are visiting places of worship across Wolverhampton, meeting faith leaders and worshippers to offer reassurance and security guidance following the Heaton Park Synagogue attack. These visits are about more than visibility β theyβre about listening, building trust, and ensuring every community feels safe.How West Midlands Police tackle terrorism and keep communities safe: πΉ Visible reassurance & support β PCSOs and neighbourhood teams regularly patrol faith sites, especially at times of prayer and gathering. πΉ Specialist counter-terrorism units β dedicated teams investigate threats, share intelligence nationally, and disrupt potential plots before they can harm communities. πΉ Security advice & funding support β officers guide places of worship on how to strengthen security, and connect them with government schemes that help fund measures like CCTV, alarms, and secure entry systems. πΉ Partnership with communities β police work closely with faith leaders, charities, and local organisations to build trust, challenge hate, and encourage the reporting of concerns. πΉ Education & prevention β outreach programmes in schools and community groups help build resilience against extremism and prevent radicalisation. West Midlands Police remain committed to protecting all faith communities. Together, with unity and support, we can stand strong against terrorism and hate. #UnitedAgainstHate #CommunitySafety #StrongerTogether
